Have You Considered Inset Cabinets?
There are many different types of cabinets to choose from when building or remodeling your home. Your home’s architecture and interior design, as well as your personal preferences, will all influence your choice in your kitchen cabinets. Inset cabinets are a unique and elevate any kitchen in which they are installed. Inset cabinets are different than most other cabinet styles where the door is mounted on the front of the cabinet frame/box. Rather, with inset cabinetry, the door fits inside the frame for a completely flat cabinet face with either an exposed or hidden hinge.
Inset cabinets integrate well into many different kitchen aesthetics including traditional, transitional, and modern styles. They do tend to be a more expensive option than other cabinet styles because of the craftsmanship necessary to make the door fit in the frame with minimal gaps. To further customize this streamlined aesthetic, you can add beaded or non-beaded inserts around the door panel, moulding, or any unique finishes or embellishments you desire.
Though they are a popular style with many advantages, there are a few considerations every homeowner must know before choosing inset cabinets. They do tend to require maintenance over time because use and changes in humidity seasonally can effect the door position and make them stick. They also tend to have less storage than frameless cabinets os if storage is a major concern, frameless may be a bette option. These timelessly cabinets should not be overlooked though. They will enhance any home into which they are installed and will elevate your kitchen aesthetic.
